NEW PHISHING EMAIL ALERT!
Okay, GF is going to kill me for blogging first thing this morning while we’re still on vacation, but this is an emergency post that needs to be seen by all.
WoW Gold Facts reader Zayda forwarded me the email she received from "Blizzard":
(Click for a larger image)
PHISHING EMAIL ALERT! If you guys received this email and if you mouse over the second link, you will see the url "http://battlenetlogin.epihost.net" on the status bar. Definitely not one of the normal urls of Blizz! (And if I’m not mistaken, Epihost is a company that offers web hosting services for a small fee, something even a scammer could easily avail of!)
If in doubt, call Blizz’s hotline or visit their website <http://www.worldofwarcraft.com> or if you have a Battlenet account, go to <http://battle.net>. Be wary of urls that contain domain names apart from Blizz’s!!!
Thanks for sharing this, Zayda. Guys, take care of your accounts. I’ll be posting regularly again after this vacay.
Peace!

Zayda, this issue has been around for ages already. I’ve included some sites that posted this exact, same phishing email:

If I were you, I’ll change my PW ASAP before they get a hold of it.
Be alert on links. Just hover on it so you can see where it is leading to. If it’s something odd and “un-Blizzard-ly” like, then DON’T CLICK IT. The site where it leads to might contain a spyware that can get all your private information just by going to that webby.
Scan your PC for viruses and spywares ALL THE TIME!
Also, be aware of the spelling. Blizzard might be spelled as “B-l-i-z-z-a-r-c-l”, “B-I-i-z-z-a-r-d” or something with those combinations.
Just take care next time. You can always contact Blizzard via their phone numbers.

Make yourself covered with eyes when you receive that kind of e-mail. That’s I always check the bottom left side of my browser to see if it will direct me to the correct web site.
Roar! :3

@ Lestat: I didn’t think to hover over the link. The email address actually looked authentic this time. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll keep the sites in mind next time.
@ Hot: Roar indeed.
