THE WEIRDEST DREAM, A PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE, ANOTHER P.O.’D CUSTOMER AND A MINI-VACAY

First a disclaimer: I’m not on drugs. I just happen to dream a lot of weird dreams but maaaaaan, this was the weirdest dream on record, Scout’s Honor! Dunno if it has something to do with the Youtube video Cletus sent me or I just happen to be genetically predisposed to nightmares. In my dream, I was the host of some funky Japanese variety show AND I dressed the effin’ part! (If you ever saw the Sofia Coppola flick Lost in Translation , you’d know what the hell I’m talking about!!!) And after a really cheesy performance by the show’s resident dancers (against a backdrop of pastels (!!!), guess who walks on stage to be interviewed by yours truly?

President Obama.

Oh god, I need to get it out of my system (but that’s for another post). Maybe someone can explain to me what the hell that dream is all about. I can still remember every single stupid question I asked him and every bizarre answer he gave me — mostly about the RMT industry (!) I’ll probably laugh about it later today but right now I can’t help but feel really weirded out.

In other news, another reader emailed me kvetching about a certain gold seller (hint: it has the word "My" and ends with the word "Sale" and the middle word starts with a "G") and implored that I publish her story ASAP. Katydid, I swear I will publish your story. Pretty hard for me to ignore your email that generated 4 pages when I printed it. Just let me get back from my mini-vacay and I promise you I will work on your story.

Yeah, you read that right, kids. I’m going on another mini-vacay — to my parents’ place upstate where they’re meeting my special girl for the first time. Sounds serious, you say? Sure, considering she’s the first girl I’m going to properly introduce to Mother. Even Cletus and Remus were surprised and asked if they could tag along but I said, no, that’d be too gay and I’m sick of you two clowns. Anyhoo I’ll be back on Monday afternoon.

Oh, I’m also thinking of doing something different for one of next week’s posts. For as long as I can remember I’ve been getting emails from different readers asking me Proust Questionnaire - type, er, questions in an attempt to get to know me better. Apparently, my About page just serves to jack up morbid curiosity about me). So this is what I’m going to do: I’m going to go through every single Proust Questionnair-esque email I received, compile all the questions and post my replies. That would be a refreshing break from all the kvetching and reviews, and might even dispel a few notions about me picking on the Chinese because as a child I was bullied by a bunch of Asian kids in school and I’m still bearing the scars of the past and whatever psychoanalysis BS there is about me.

Stay tuned! See y’all when I get back!

TROUBLE OUTSIDE WOW PARADISE: AN AION PLAYER SPEAKS UP AGAINST SPAM

"Hi EGF I know your site is all about wow gold and World of Warcraft but please hear me out. I recently tried playing Aion. Please take a look at the screenshot. It’s the worse ingame spam i have ever seen, a spam a minute!"

Aion beta screenshot

"What you’re looking at is aion beta in China. Just think what these spammers will do when the game launches in the US in september! The worst of the group are aionsea.com, gameci.com and mmovo.com.  Show this to your readers they might play aion when it comes out and get the same tells. Tell them not to buy from the chinese theyre the worst kind please please please PUBLISH this message and show them the image." - Erik

Erik, thanks for your email and for providing us a glimpse into the already rampant in-game spam going on in Aion. I feel your frustration…and disgust.

Looking at the image it seems the predatory Chinese gold farmers are determined to interrupt every moment of game play fun in every MMORPG on the planet . Have they no scruples, no concept of good manners? Their lack of consideration for players  is appalling, to say the least!

If you guys plan on playing Aion when it comes out, then you better brace yourselves for a barrage of spam…but FIGHT BACK!

How?

1.  By reporting all in-game spammers to the GM

2. By NOT buying Aion currency from the in-game spammers (no matter how temptingly low the prices are)

3. By buying ONLY from trusted RMT sites.

Remember, guys: ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SPAMMERS AND SCAMMERS!

May. They. Rot. In. Hell.

FATAL ATTRACTION PART 2 FROM THE WOW GOLD FACTS WAILING WALL

‘EGF will you look at this!!!" - Andrea

Brad THSale stalker

Brad again ???

Jesus H. Christ, he’s like the annoying cousin who visits you everyday…only this cousin is into hardcore spamming.

Okay, Andrea, there are two ways of dealing with this ass clown:

1. Report his message as spam and hopefully his account gets banned

2. Submit his Yahoo Messenger ID to every gay online sex and swingers personals community website.

But hang on, I just had a thought about #1. Your precious Brad might retaliate and squeal on your gold-buying (read: tell the publisher), so I’m not sure if that’s a safe move. It crossed my mind because I suddenly remembered an old post I wrote about Wowmine threatening this customer who cancelled his payment . You could shrug off the threat as bogus, but hey we’ve seen what those Chinese are capable of doing! Think of the many MMO accounts they stole  and the many innocent customers they deceived (and of course, let’s not forget the rabid spamming!). What’s to stop them from pulling such a heartless stunt?

Better yet just don’t buy from THSale anymore and put Brad on your ignore list.

As for #2, hmm, he might actually like it.

READER’S REVIEW: GAMING4LESS.COM AKA WOWMINE REZZED FROM HELL (2/2)

As of this writing, Tracy has yet to receive the 1000 gold that Gaming4Less (aka Wowmine in a still unattractive package), said got "banned". They told her to give them another 12 hours to farm the gold. It’s been more than 12 hours. Tracy is NOT hopeful. Can’t blame her. As my own personal saying goes, "people on death row have brighter futures".

What’s freaking her out more than the missing amount is the possibility that her own account may have gotten flagged by the publisher for her transactions with Gaming4Less. Now I’m not sure if the publisher has a way of keeping tabs on who the banned account holder may have interacted with in the game, but nonetheless it’s a scary thought.

While honesty may be the best policy, as the cliche goes, it’s very disconcerting how Gaming4Less’ customer service could casually admit that their own WoW account - used to deliver the goods - got banned. Naturally, a customer like Tracy would flip and worry about the safety of her own account. I can’t help but wonder where the hell Wowmine, I mean, Gaming4Less went wrong that their account attracted unwanted attention from Blizz.

"Whaddaya expect? They’re Wowmine," said Cletus. "Hell, they can’t even cover up their own skinny asses that’s why Microsoft is  suing them for ‘alleged’ click fraud."

(Picture Cletus’ eyes rolling and his fingers doing the quote-unquote thing in the air while enunciating the word alleged . It was almost Homer Simpson-ish.)

Speaking about the Microsoft case, I wonder if the Dynamic duo (gee, wonder which brother gets to play the useless Boy Wonder, since both of them are so useless anyway) closed Wowmine and the other sites and put up Gaming4Less to escape their former behemoth’s tarnished image (made worse when the Microsoft lawsuit made headlines). IF that is indeed the case, then it’s an exercise in futitility, because it’s merely a new name, but it’s the same overflowing toilet bowl of sh*t.

It also appears that they were in such a hurry to get the site up and running that they lifted copy from another major gold seller, Goldsoon.com, plus their FAQ page is missing or broken. LOL!

Lifted Copy

Original copy

Wonder what the guys of Goldsoon dot com have to say about this (oh heavens, please don’t tell me you don’t mind because your friends or partners with the Dynamic duo!)

Broken FAQ

If I were the owner of that website (and thank God I’m not!), I’d be ashamed to put up a live site looking like that!

Hell on the other hand, if I were on the lam and needed money to pay my lawyers, I’d be desperate too to get my gold-selling site up and about, even if it means lifting copy and hiring third-rate programmers. *rolls eyes like Cletus*

Hey Tracy, really sorry about what happened. Try asking for a refund equal to the 1k they owe you. That’s what I would do.

Gaming4Less certainly lives up to its name. You end up gaming with less gold than you ordered. Not to mention you feel LESS secure about the future of your own account. Tsk tsk.

Till the next review, kiddies!

READER’S REVIEW: GAMING4LESS.COM AKA WOWMINE REINCARNATED (1/2)

Well, looks like we’ll have to turn 360 degrees and moonwalk back to the wine cellar to return that vintage bottle of Krug, kiddies, because it turns out Lord Voldemort, I mean, Wowmine ain’t kaput at all and is back as Gaming4Less.com.

As reader Cathryn Wheel succinctly put it, "new name, same sh*t".

So there will be no celebrating, only commiserating with your fellow gold buyer who got the scare of her life less than 24 hours ago when she made the fatal mistake of ordering from Gaming4Less.

This is “Tracy”’s story.

EGF, I wouldn’t have shopped at gaming4less had I known it was actually wowmine with a different name. I HATE WOWMINE! I bought 4000 gold and got 3000 and when I asked customer service where is the 1k she said Sorry, there is only 3000gold left, the other 1000gold was banned.

Gaming4Less chat

(Good question. How can they be so careless? Easy. They’re idiots. - EGF)

So she was actually saying that they had only 4000g on my server while their website says "plenty of stock". And they got banned so does that mean my account has been compromised too? OMg egf I WILL die IF I LOSE MY ACCOUNT!

She told me to wait for 12 hours to get the rest of my order. I ended the chat.

But I was really upset so I went back to customer service:

G4L] Hello, how may I help you?
[Visitor] I ordered 4000g from you guys because it says on your site that you have plenty of stock! I got the 3000g which was great, ty but when I asked about the missing 1000g I was told IT GOT BANNED
[Visitor] I’m back here to let you know how pissed off I am at your bullshit
[Visitor] 12 hours to get the 1000g is NOT QUICK DELIVERY
[Visitor] Your getting banned is NOT VERY REASSURING!
[Visitor] Helloooooo????
[Visitor] HEY
[Visitor] WHERE IS MY 1KG??
[Visitor] ANSWER ME
[G4L] sorry for keeping you waiting
[G4L] we’re checking it for you
[G4L] your order number pls ?
[Visitor] # 4XXXXXXX
[Visitor] HELLO???????
[Visitor] HELLO????
[Visitor] DAMN IT ANSWER ME

To be continued…

THE WOW GOLD FACTS WAILING WALL: Not All Quiet On The Western Front

Okay, so I was on this mini-vacation again where the fam and I celebrated my sister’s engagement. And I came home several hours ago to a flood of emails from pissed-off WoW Gold Facts readers all telling me how they’ve been spammed, duped and hassled to Kingdom come by Chinese RMT sites. Now I normally get feedback and such via the comments section but this time I got everything in the mail, complete with screenshots as evidence.

A few stood out and I am sharing them to the rest of the readers-slash-gold buyers to serve as a warning. One particular email, which arrived literally minutes ago, will have its own separate post, as I see it as a continuation of this other (dumb) saga that I’d been keeping tabs on.

For this post, I present the following readers’ tales of their maddening experience with people from a faraway land. Dirk Struan probably dealt with a lot less idiots in his fictional life.

Exhibit A:

"DEEP AND CUT THROAT DISCOUNT"  (How very apt in this cut-throat business!)

Submitted by Bo N.

Gamemensa

Bo says "it’s looking very cheap and I can’t find anything bad about it other than it looks like the link is a spam verifier."

I can see what else is wrong with Gamemensa’s email, Bo.

For a gold seller that has the balls to think of a site name that brings to mind geniuses, it shoots itself in the foot with its own dumb English.

Exhibit B:

"FATAL ATTRACTION: THSALE’S CREEPY CUSTOMER SERVICE"

Submitted by "Andrea"

If you thought Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction was scary and Jim Carrey in Cable Guy was godawful irritating, poor Andrea here got a fatal mix of both in the person of THSale’s Brad. Below are excerpts from her email:

"Hi EGF, I wish my husband and I saw your website before we bought anything from THSale. I bought a lot of gold from them and it was Brad (their rep) who contacted me to go online to receive my order. It was an okay buying experience but I noticed that after that one order Brad would keep whispering to my toon to ask if I needed any gold. I told him maybe later, I’m busy I’m in an instance, can’t talk now. Well after an hour I was still in Gundrak and Brad whispered again to me asking me if I knew other people who’d like to buy from them. I found it really rude and distasteful of him to market his company in the game and while I am trying NOT TO GET KILLED!"

"What’s also annoying is how he’s trying to get me to add him to my YM contact list. This keeps showing whenever I open my email:"

Brad THSale jerk

"Anyway a few days later I told hubby I needed more gold for my alts and he said, don’t go to thsale anymore, let’s go to this other  site instead. Doesn’t matter if they’re expensive, as long as they don’t bug you. So we bought from a site called wowgoldbank.com where the gold was indeed pricier. Guess what? I got a phone call from BRAD OF THSALE TELLING ME TO LOG IN AND GET MY GOLD! And while waiting for their character to give me my gold he was saying stuff like he was reprimanding me: ‘why didn’t you order from thsale? why did you go to our other site where gold is more expensive? didn’t you remember the discount code I gave you? Next time order from thsale"

"I was really shocked to find out they owned wowgoldbank and hubby is surprised that they would even admit that! What made it worse was how pissed off Brad sounded on the phone. Imagine a customer service agent telling off  a customer!

"EGF, please tell your readers not to buy from ThSale (Gee, I thought I already did - EGF) or its twin wowgoldbank.com unless they want someone stalking them everywhere they go!’

"This comes from my husband and trust me he’s usually a gentleman: F*** THSALE AND F*** BRAD!!"

Andrea, sorry can’t do the last part. Brad ain’t my type for sure.

But seriously, I’m sorry you were hassled. Just put Brad on ignore. If he rolls new toons so he can whisper freely to you again, take screenshots and send them over to me so I can publish them and shame THSale into the ground.

AND FINALLY ON A RELATED NOTE, ALBEIT A MORE TRAGIC  ONE……. (AND I HAVE NO OTHER WORDS TO EXPRESS MY RAGE APART FROM THE TITLE)

Exhibit C:

"ACCOUNT ACTION: CLOSURE" Plus Someone Kill The SOB Responsible For This

Submitted by Will F.

Hey EGF,

I have been a reader of your blogs after I first got scammed by a company and would like to warn you about them so your readers do not do business with them. But before that I would like to share a few things with you.

I recently have gotten banned from World of Warcraft and don’t expect to come back to the game because of these gold framing power leveling exploiters.

Here is a copy of the hilariously but still depressing email i received from Blizzard. To avoid wall of text syndrome I have highlighted the different emails from the companies. Blizzard and TPMT Game Service INC

WOWMINE KAPUT?

Quick but interesting post:

What’s become of Wowmine and its sister sites and why are they all on "server maintenance"?

(Click for a larger image)

I swear, you’ll see the same "server maintenance" message when you try to place a order — even a test order — at their site!

Hell, some of their sites in the list don’t even exist anymore!

What exactly is going on? Is there bigger trouble in paradise (lost)?

A little birdie told me that Wowmine has more dung on their plate — while I wasn’t given specifics, it was hinted to me that it had something to do with their gang of gold farmers bidding them bye-bye. Couple that with the Microsoft lawsuit and you’ve got yourself an entity that’s in deep sh*t.

Tsk tsk. Their poor, poor  customers!  (if they still have any, that is)

That’s all.

IF GOD IS A GIRL, THEN I’M THE DEVIL SENT TO TORMENT YOU

I’m not a very religious person. My church-going parents  could attest to that. However,  I still believe in a Higher Being and I don’t appreciate it when people drag God into their muck to make a quick buck. And no, I’m not referring to those corrupt, hypocritical  preachers you read about in Rupert Murdoch’s supermarket tabloids.

I’m talking about this piece of crap:

GodIsagirl coupon code

Coupon: GodIsAGirl

*shakes head disapprovingly*

If my mother sees this, I just know she’ll say: "You will burn in hell!" and proceed to read the infamous "hell chapter" (actually Chapter 3) of James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man , just to scare the bejesus out of the offender.

Was MMOApex at the apex of politically incorrect insanity when they thought of this sacrilege?

Let’s dare them to replace the name "God" with"Allah". Betcha $5,000 and one of my WoW accounts their plane won’t land safely.

Out of sheer disgust, I decided to pick on one more in-game spammer. (Yes, I know I owe you a review but let’s do that  after I finish picking on dem Chinese scum, okay?)

Here’s my latest performance. Oh, and please don’t say I’m such a mean person for messing with them. These spammers are asking for it!

WHEN GETTING SPAMMED IS LICENSE TO BE AN ANNOYING JERK

This is proof that in-game spammers are:

1. Unmindful of your need to play uninterrupted

2. Clueless to sarcasm

3. As dumb as a box of hammers

Because they won’t stop at what they’re doing, I decided to mess with one of them by acting like a jerk. I took the opportunity to waste their time as well as:

1. Raise false hopes

2. Incite hatred against their fellow spammer

3. Take screenshots to humiliate the spammer

Here’s my handiwork below. I strongly encourage you kiddies to do the same till they tire of their own spammy game and drop dead!

INTERLUDE POST: EXCUSE ME, LADY, BUT THIS CUTE GUY DOESN’T EAT MEN

Well, dang, at least she called me "cute guy"!

This is, without a doubt, the most disturbing newsletter I’ve received to date. Cherry, the "top sales person" from G4per dot com, must have hired her 12-year old sister to write this masterpiece….a horny 12-year old sister who happens to be incurably addicted to smileys and colorful typefaces and who failed her English class not once, not twice, but 20 (bleeping) times. That’s enough reason for me and you not to buy from this shady, sleazy, never-heard-of, spammy, freaky, potentially fly-by-night gold seller!

So in a nutshell, what is wrong with this email? Hell, EVERYTHING!!!

MASSIVE LIQUIDATION??? Plus New Reader’s Review Coming Soon

Another reader submitted a review Saturday morning and I’m still refining the post. Expect it within a couple of days (unless my migraine and insomnia decide to assault me again).

In the meantime, someone explain to me why a gold seller that sells virtual currency would go on a "massive liquidation sale" - unless they’re closing shop.

Massive Liquidation newsletter

The term is ridiculous, to say the least. They must have one helluva "warehouse" for all that WoW gold, which they claim they can deliver in 10 minutes so that “your war will keep going to beat & win without any delay”, whatever in God’s name that means.

I’ve never heard of this seller, I’ve never done business with them but lo and behold, I’m on their mailing list. I did check out their site and they look eerily familiar — like they’re owned by he-who-must-not-be-named (lest he and his bro think I’m crushing on them). Anyhoo, even with the bonus their gold is still expensive by industry standards. Nope, not biting unless someone’s willing to shell out money for me to review them. :D

So how was your weekend? Raided any faction cities?  I know a certain faction that tried but didn’t succeed . *chortle chortle*

Later, guys. *yawns*

MYGAMESALE’S HISSY-FIT: BAD ENGLISH AND BAD EVERYTHING

Ha ha, a group of swindlers, the use of the so-called brand, professional players to cheat. No matter how hard that you are a company to sell wow gold, you are a monopoly in this market for their own! !  Please do not believe that these low prices is the real!

Administrator, please do not delete, if the comment was deleted, it will spread on the Internet.

Mygamesale, or whatever your real name is, no I won’t delete your comment. In fact, I will do you the dubious honor of publishing your literary masterpiece for the entire world to see, just for sh*ts and giggles. I have to thank you for making my evening. Your command of the English language has me in stitches. While I kinda have an idea what the hell you’re talking about, I wonder if you have any idea how colossally retarded you sound.

Mygamesale, before you accuse a bunch of gold sellers of monopolizing the RMT market, I suggest you take a hard look at your own spiderweb of gold-selling sites , especially your own shady past life as a company called IGE.cc — a name you had to let go of ’cause the real IGE sued you for trademark infringement. Not exactly a pristine background for you, eh? So why don’t you just STFU and go play on a private server?

Loser!

INSOMNIA POST: THSALE AND BIZRATE RATINGS AND THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM

3:00 am. My insomnia decided it wants my ass at this ungodly hour. I’d play now if only someone from my guild was around but no such luck. And if my gf was awake playing WoW at this hour, I’d be hard-pressed to play Alliance.  Her main toon is a MALE gnome , which disturbs me to this day. She asked me to roll a new toon on her PvP (!) server so we can play together — with me playing the FEMALE gnome , a proposal that made my stomach turn. I didn’t have the heart to tell her — God I love her too much — what I really thought of the Alliance, which is best expressed by this guy on YouTube .

Anyhoo, here’s another email from a WoW Gold Facts reader:

Hi EGF, I’m a former victim of THSale just want to show you their fake Bizrate rating, actually there’s no rating. LOL  click on outstanding customer service on main page then you’l (sic) see — Venessa

Okay, so I went to THSale’s site and I zeroed in on the Bizrate banner.

ThSale Bizrate Financial Turmoil

Hang on, before we check out their Bizrate ratings, let’s pause for a second and have a look at their graph and somewhat defensive "No Financial Turmoil" exclamation. What exactly are they trying to say?

Ah heck, that data could have been plucked out of anywhere for the sake of coming up with a graph to prettify their main page (I’m guessing okay? And it’s 3am, not exactly my heavy thinking hour so cut me some slack). THSale could have impressed me more if they just slapped this on their landing page:

Pac Man Pie Chart

Yeah that makes more (bleep)ing sense to me, babe!

Now on to the Bizrate ratings. Let’s click the outstanding customer service link.

Voila!

THSale Bizrate

Okay, now this doesn’t make any sense to me. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that "not yet rated" message means no one has rated them in the past three months or so, which means they haven’t gotten much business in a while — or they had customers but the customers were too P.O.’d to take the time to rate them. Either way, it’s not the sign of a consistent performer. Personally, I’d stay away from THSale or any gold seller that fudges their Bizrate banner. That little stunt alone says a LOT about a company’s integrity.

Don’t take fancy claims and fancy banners at face value, kiddies. Let’s be more scrutinizing when we shop around for gold sellers. Just as we don’t judge a book by its cover, we shouldn’t be swayed by a smiley face beaming at us and announcing "outstanding customer service"!

‘Cause chances are that smiley face has something sinister in the back of his mind.

BILLINGWOW SCAM-O-RAMA

Kids, I hope no one fell for this scammy trap:

Billingwow scam

(Image sent by reader Cloudrunner)

[Billingwow] whispers:  Hi You have become a Blizzard lucky player, 3 days later you’ll get a surprise gift of the mysterious, registered address: www.blizzard-battle.com

The surprise gift is that you’ll have a fresh new account with no gold and no characters! Ha!

I tried visiting the site but got this:

Blizzard Battle Site

Har har har.

Just remember this: Blizzard has never sent and never will send whispers to players regarding promos and special prizes. If you do get a whisper, it’s got to have the GM tag to show it’s legit!

Be safe, ya’ll.

CLEANING UP THE INDUSTRY Plus It’s About Time

Kudos to reader Paul for forwarding me the newsletter below. I think I may have brilliantly deleted my own copy (dang bulk action option!). Hope everyone else received theirs. I’m showing the newsletter in both JPEG and text format, just in case some of you can’t see the image.

IGE Clean up The Industry Newsletter

Dear Paul ,

We are writing to you today to discuss an important issue, one that is important to all of us as dedicated gamers. Please read and consider this information carefully.

Real Money Trading (RMT) is the name used to describe the selling of game accounts and virtual assets for real money.

It is an activity that was first established by gamers, not game publishers, not corporate service providers. It is something that many gamers are involved in, and is an activity which we believe gamers have every right to conduct.

IGE® was established because its founders saw a need, to provide online gamers with services they were requesting at a fair price, with real customer service and with rock solid customer guarantees.

In the 7 years since its inception, the RMT industry has evolved greatly. Today, it is not driven by gamer-to-gamer trades. Instead, it is a billion dollar annual market place, with the majority of currency provided by professional “farmers” working in third world countries. While this has brought the convenience of more inventories for purchase, it has also brought with it a host of problems. The purpose of this newsletter is to discuss those problems, and what we can do together to help solve them.

We believe that fraud hurts all of us. Unfortunately, because the industry is largely unregulated, and gold sellers are often located in countries where it is hard to prosecute fraud, there have been too many examples of abuse over the last few years. We would like to work with you to change that.

Knowledge is power!

We recognize that there is a significant shortage of trustworthy information available for you (the customer). It is practically impossible to find recommendations from experts that allow you to make sound decisions about where (and from whom) you can safely purchase virtual currency. Fortunately, a few excellent resources are emerging. Our favorite is www.wowgoldfacts.com

To correct this, about two years ago, we began quietly providing real insights to our customers regarding virtual currency supplies and industry matters as part of our commitment to ‘clean up the industry’. If currency is scarce, we admit it. If prices are moving up or down, we admit it. If a refund is requested prior to delivery, we give it. For years, we have taken a strong stand against spam and supplier fraud. We require those who work with IGE® to adhere to these same standards or we stop doing business with them. Period.

Setting industry standards:

IGE® has set benchmark standards for your protection:
- Zero tolerance for fraud
- Ethical sourcing policies
- McAfee and VeriSign verified e-commerce sites
- Scrupulous monitoring of our systems to prevent malicious activities…we guarantee that our sites
are virus free
- Absolutely NO in-game, or email spam
- Expert, English speaking and comprehensive customer service
- Clear and documented complaints escalation and refund procedures and policies
- Clear terms of service and privacy policies

Self regulation:

In January, IGE® began reaching out to competitive gold sellers, explaining our goal of building a group of trusted member sites dedicated to standardizing the industry, and stopping all fraud and abuse. Self regulation worked well for Hollywood as well as the video game industry. We think it will work just as well in RMT. We began by eliminating sites which don’t meet the standards set above as well as those with histories of abuse, specifically; buying currency from suppliers who are known to commit fraud, account theft, dealing in stolen credit cards, power leveling abuses where customer accounts are used to farm currency, black hat SEO and SEM techniques which hurt everyone by driving up costs, false advertising, etc.

We are pleased to put forth below a list of companies who conform to the standards outlined above, and from whom you can buy with confidence. There may be other companies that meet these standards, and if so, we will happily recommend them. The list below is not meant to be complete or comprehensive. It is simply the list we have today. These companies operate with high standards of business ethics and you can purchase with confidence, knowing that if there are issues, they will work with you to resolve them fairly. You may ask, why in the world would IGE® recommend that you shop at competitive sites? It is because we believe the issue of “cleaning up the industry” is more important than competitive worries. We are confident that we can, in a fair and clean market place, earn your business.

The sites which we own are denoted by an asterisk (*).

Sites which you can trust (listed alphabetically):

1. www.EpicToon.com
2. www.Gamemasta.com
3. www.IGE.com*
4. Mogs.com
5. www.Mymmoshop.com
6. www.Mysupersales.com*
7. www.RPGtrader.com
8. www.Vipgamer.com
9. www.Videogamegold.com
10. www.WoWgoldpig.com
11. www.WoWtreasures.com

Our message is clear - You have the power to regulate this industry by only buying from trusted sites.

Like you, we all have zero tolerance for fraud, spam and other abuses.

Like you, we agree that “cleaning up the industry” is important.

From time to time, we will refresh the list of trusted sites as it evolves and expands.

In appreciation of the time you took to read this message, we would like to offer you a 10% discount on your next order. Simply visit IGE.com, make your purchase, and when prompted during the checkout process, input the coupon code: SPREADTHEWORD; valid until 31st of August 2009 11:59PM PST.

Best regards,

Your dedicated IGE® Team

This is excellent news — and it’s not because they made special mention of my site, woohoo — but it’s because it’s high time a bunch of professionals banded together to clean up this industry and give it the cred it deserves. I personally am fed up with all the spam and scam that’s rampant in this business and heaven knows it’s in desperate need of policing!

And it’s true — we consumers have the power to become agents of positive change. We can take the first step by reporting every spammer and scammer we encounter and warning others about their harmful activities. And by shopping only at the most trusted sites and advising fellow gamers on where to buy, we can help maintain professional standards in this industry.

There’s hope after all.
