THE FURY OVER MARTIN FURY: GNOME LOSES HIS SHIRT AND MUCH MORE

Okay, so I may not be talking about anything "just-happened-minutes ago" new, but I just wanted your opinion on the whole Martin Fury shirt brouhaha AKA the GM Item Scandal . By now, every WoW player must know about a certain Gnome named Karatechop who used a BFG-type shirt that Blizzard had inadvertently mailed to his guildie. That shirt enabled him to solo Ulduar — something I can only dream about till I buy the farm.

There are two opinions heating up the forums regarding this incident: first one says the guy who used the shirt deserved to get banned because he knew it was an out-of-the-ordinary item, and that he or the other guy who received it in the mail should have sent a ticket pronto. The second opinion voices support for Mr. I-One shotted -Ulduar, saying it wasn’t entirely his fault, and that he should have been given a lighter punishment.

Here’s my take: so Blizz mistakenly sent the shirt in the mail. That’s like the bank mistakenly crediting $1000 to your account instead of $100.  The right thing to do is to report the error to the bank, or in this case, Blizzard. The money, I mean, the shirt is not yours, nor is it meant for any player . Glitches happen. The Epic Fairy does not exist. I’d be scared sh*tless to keep that shirt in my possession.

Some people argue that the player used the shirt without really affecting anyone’s gaming. Um, yeah but hell, he could have used that shirt to wipe out my faction in seconds. As WoWinsider reader Lerang pointed out: He could of (sic) gone into Wintergrasp and killed every horde member in sight!

So was Blizz justified to close Karatechop’s account? Yes, I think so. Like I said, he used something that’s not meant for us players. And he did so with wild abandon.

And as Cletus so charmingly put it, "Yeah, ’cause he’s a (bleep)ing  gnome. ‘Nuff said."

    NICE!

Blizz should be keen on who to pick as the next GM next time. This item should not be worn by any character/player as this would really make the game imbalanced.

They should blame the GMs for making the whole Azeroth imbalanced, not the gold sellers. LOL!

It’s the GM’s fault although the player didn’t report it.

It’s a human instinct. If I got something that would make me feel the best, I would keep it for Gosh-Sake!

And if I were the one who got that godly item, I might do the same - kill the ugly monster in one shot. :3

I feel for the player, all his hard work were gone to waste just because of the GM shirt. I think Blizz should also terminate the GM who inadvertently mailed the item just to be fair! What do yah think? Its not a very bad idea LOL
