WOWGOLDPIG.COM: THIS TIME I’M NOT DRUNK Plus Where Did This Little Mushroom Spring From? (1/5)
Okay, kiddies, this time I am 100% sober.
Let me just explain my previous post: I was at a New Year’s gathering with old friends (all WoW players, mind you) and at one point (when we were all close to getting inebriated) we started talking about my blogsite and how they got a kick out of it…then one of them said "you gotta do WoWGoldPig, man!"
Now I thought he was being funny and I thought the name was funny - nay, hysterical! - and my tequila-addled brain released some chemicals that gave me the case of the schoolgirl giggles. At least that’s what I remember: me ROFL’ing over the name WoWGoldPig. And next thing I knew I was in my own apartment typing a post on WoWGoldPig right after checking out their site.
And then I passed out.
So anyway, what the heck is WoWGoldPig.com ?
Turns out it’s a site that sells WoW gold and only WoW gold. Now I don’t know what the genius who thought of the site name was on when it hit him like a bolt of lightning to call the site WoWGoldPig, but hey, whatever that was, I want some.
Kidding.
My curiosity is piqued. Why the name? Maybe customer service could give a proper explanation?
Let’s check out the sight together, shall we?
Here’s the landing page:

Hmm, price updates and newsletters? Maybe next time, hombres. *oinks back*
Now where’s that customer service link?
Ah, yes!

Wait a minute….

Oh come on, I can’t speak to a customer service rep unless I have an order???
Sheesh.
Man, I need to know why they named the site WoWGoldPig! It’s a question that’s close to killing me!
Grrrrrr.
Okay, fine, I’m ordering, dang you! If only to give me peace. You sprung up from nowhere and yet you’re already gnawing away at me. Dang you!
But first, gotta ask Cletus or Remus to pay for the order.

Weird name. I hope they won’t have a weird service, too. I’ll try this one. Will let you know if their service is good.

Starting to dislike these gold pig fellas
This is my second purchase. I am going on 168 hours no delivery. I am pretty sure they have gotten in over their heads. I do not reccommend. Not until they take care of their backlog anyway. First time was about 48-50 hours. About twice as long as the 24 hour promise. But 168, yes that is 7 days, a whole week of waiting and emails and crap. Dont stop at this pigpen.

I’m sad to hear that Antimurloc. I suspect that there’s a high demand on your server, well you have to contact their help support and ask for the real reason why they haven’t delivered your order yet. It happened to me once and I’m glad they took care of concern.

WOW Gold Pig can be a bit slow, I bought 3000 gold.. got it alsmot immediatly.. within two days bought another 3000 as I was so impressed with their service, and got 2000 alsmot immedialty, and 1000 4 days later.
However, I did get it, and for such a cheap price I have no complaints.

Bought 3k as a test (16/10/09), got 2k within 24 hours and the other K the next day. I am in Aus and as such I got both through the mail but I would recommend them. Will be buying another 4k or so later on tonight.

I’ve ordered from these guys twice and while I received the order both times, I have some issues -
Can these guys and others make it any less obvious that they are conducting a gold selling transaction? Whispering “This is the delivery guy.”, a level 1 toon with a name like “ziajiajs”. I’m already worried about getting banned, you’d think that if these companies wanted to stick around they would employ less telling practices of delivering the goods. The whole process of delivering gold in-game would be extremely suspicious to blizzard if blizz ever took 2 seconds to look at logs around the time you received your random charitable donation from an account where the user is logging in from China. This brings me to the other thing… I was expecting these guys to be US based. Nope. They could barely speak English beyond what was macro’d.
The whispers, the actions, where you then transferred your gold to, etc… the footprint for what a transaction might look like while purchasing gold seems like it is quite easy to pick up. What really gives the transaction away in my mind are the randomized names of the level 1 toons… the broken english & the nature of the dialogue…. Do you think Blizzard doesn’t have logs of everything being said on their servers? Every whisper around the time of an unusually large gold transaction between two characters which have no previous interactions with one another?
It is very surprising to me how people can get away with purchasing gold with any sort of frequency and continue to go undetected.
Seems like almost a myth!?
Good delivery times though =) Both under an hour for orders 1-5k.

I was a really skiddish about ordering but I tried it just now. I ordered 2000g and received within about 15 minutes. Very discreet, cheap and fast. I would recommend
